Baxter J. Garcia,  Ph.D.

Dr. Baxter Garcia received his doctorate in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Toronto, Canada.  Dr. Garcia has had a varied career in academia, industrial research and as an independent consultant in software engineering.  He, along with Al Longo,  founded CHART in 2005  as an organization that could recruit artists and art therapists to provide psychosocial relief in response to the South Asian tsunami. 

 

 
 
 
 

 

Gaelynn P. Wolf Bordonaro, Ph.D., ATR

Dr. Gaelynn P. Wolf Bordonaro, ATR is the director of the art therapy program at Emporia State University.  She has taught art therapy coursework at Florida State University, the University of Louisville, and La Trobe University (Melbourne, Australia), and has presented on art therapy topics in Australia, the Bahamas, India, Jamaica, Germany, Thailand, and throughout the United States.  Her primary areas of interest are international art therapy, pediatric medical art therapy, photography in therapeutic settings, and art therapy with special populations in schools.  A professional photographer, she has served as AATA’s “Official Conference Photographer” for five years.

 

 

Parichat Bulner

Parichat Bulner is a graduate of the Art Therapy program at PhillipsGraduate Institute in Encino, CA.  A Thai native, Parichat attended international schools in Thailand and attended Chiang Mai University.  Prior to embarking on a career as an art therapist, Parichat worked for the Royal Thai Consulate in Los Angeles in their Tourism Authority branch.  Currently, Parichat practices art therapy at the Asian Pacific Counseling & Treatment Centers.

 

Niparpon Johansen

Niparpon Johansen, born, raised and educated in Thailand, is currently living in the Los Angeles area;  she is an accomplished artist-photographer and businesswoman who is  in the process of continuing her education in the field of Art Therapy. 

Niparpon is an honors graduate of Silpakorn University who later taught photography classes there as well as at Bangkok University and King Mongkut Institute of Technology.  Niparpon is currently in the second year of the Graduate Art Therapy Program at Loyola Marymount College in Los Angeles.

 

 

Fonje deVre

Consultant

 

 

Fonje deVre studied at the Art Students League, NY, Chicago Arts Institute and has an extensive background in the arts field as a concert producer, practicing artist, curator and art consultant.  He organized art exhibitions under the aegis of the United Nations (UNICEF) and has been a longtime consultant to CHART .
