I am born for the Near the Water Clan and born into the Black Sheep People. My maternal grandfather is of the Towering House Clan and my paternal grandfather is of the One Who Walks Around Clan. My roots are respectfully planted in the heart of the Navajo reservation, Window Rock, AZ.
 
I received my bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education in 2006 and with an idealistic attitude, moved back to the reservation where I taught first grade. In my journey as an educator, I have witnessed the magnificent power of art and firmly believe that it is crucial to the complete development of children.  Art is a natural form of expression that is present in all cultures and has many benefits beyond mere aesthetics. This belief, combined with my own artistic enthusiasm, has prompted the pursuit of a career in art therapy. It has also warranted the creation of an art program with a multi-faceted approach and provides the indigenous children of the Navajo reservation the experience of visual arts, music, dance, and other expressive entities.
 
     

Emily Endreson, ATR-BC

  Emily Endreson initially channeled her passion for the arts as a public school Art Educator in San Francisco. She went on to receive her Masters in Art Therapy from New York University, and worked in community and clinical settings, teaching hospitals and universities for the next 15 years. Her current focus is working with those battling alcoholism and addictions; she is fascinated with the possibility of utilizing digital media to provide therapy to people in isolated rural areas.  
     

Mary Rosas, MA-LLP, ATR

  Mary Rosas has been working on numerous projects and in private practice utilizing psychology and art therapy with a wide range of populations including special education, inner city, and indigenous groups ranging in ages from pre-school to seniors for over 20 years.

"Creating in some form has always been my response to life’s challenges. An important aspect of creating for me is quietness. Contemplation of nature, found objects, or my own inner spaces stills my mind. In this quietness, I find inspiration and joy for both my art and my life that is also full of music, dance, laughter, and friends."

 
 

Nancy Langsner,  MFA, Dance Therapist

     
  My interest is to assist others in development of healthy lives and relationships through the art of movement/dance. I have acted as counselor and teacher, integrating the creative art of movement expression toward therapeutic and educational purposes. I work with women, youth, children, college students, and special needs populations.

 My workshops expand the range of expressive movement through body awareness, breath, relaxation and sensitivity exercises. Participants will explore parts of their bodies, the use of movement dynamics/qualities, shapes, space (levels and patterns), relationship and how emotion may or may not connect to these elements. There will then take place an exploration of how these integrated aspects can express stories Musical instruments and music will be incorporated to enhance this exploration.

Currently, I dance in a Company in Tempe, AZ, A Ludwig Dance Theater, which addresses meaningful issues in today’s world, and plan to continue on my path toward leading therapeutic creative expressive dance sessions .

  I am an undergraduate student at the University of Arizona with a double major
in Studio Art and Spanish/ Portuguese, and a Psychology minor. Art has always
been an important part of my life and is very therapeutic for me which is why I
plan to continue my education and get a Master's degree in Art Therapy.

I feel that art is often overlooked and not taken seriously and would like to
introduce it to more people so they can discover themselves through art.
